Description: |
We are actively searching for a qualified planning professional to lead a comprehensive assessment concentrating on passenger transportation within the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM), concentrating primarily on ground transportation opportunities. This study is designed to delve into the intricate issues surrounding the current lack of passenger transportation infrastructure in the NRRM. Building upon the foundational insights from the NDIT Northern BC Inter-community Transportation Study, our project seeks to explore sustainable solutions that go beyond conventional options. The emphasis is on enhancing the overall well-being of the communities involved, with a particular focus on inclusivity that extends to the First Nation communities within the region. Through this undertaking, we aim to pave the way for a resilient and interconnected transportation framework that not only addresses immediate challenges but also fosters the long-term vitality of the NRRM and its diverse communities. The Project will include the review of any existing relevant documents, such as the Official Community Plan (OCP), bylaws, regional economic strategy and other relevant documents; SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats); consideration of the NRRM Regional Council’s vision and strategic priorities. It will have a robust, meaningful public and stakeholder engagement component to help inform policy direction, community character, and priorities. The NRRM will utilize the services of a consultant to lead the project while the NRRM will provide a supporting role. |
